How our practice matches it

Adaptation

Not adaptive, like the real test: every student who sits a given test answers the same questions.

Interface and tools

  • Section timer you can hide
  • Question index with flags
  • Answer Eliminator, Answer Masking, Highlighter, Line Reader and Magnifier
  • Built-in Desmos graphing calculator in Mathematics
  • Contrast options
  • You choose Science and Writing before you start

Scoring and differences

Your report gives estimated scores on the 1–36 scale for each test you sat, an estimated Composite of English, Mathematics and Reading, and STEM and ELA scores where they apply. An essay receives an automated estimate on the 2–12 Writing scale. It is not an ACT score.

  • The online ACT is ACT's own software; ours reproduces its tools, structure and timing, not its exact screens.

After your ACT test: the AI Tutor

On the ACT it works through English, Mathematics, Reading and Science questions. Your ACT Writing text is coached against the ACT Writing rubric. The exam's own Desmos calculator is on screen too.

FreeYour first 2 mistakes are free (up to 10 minutes)

Then 30-minute blocks at $3.99 · No card needed to try it, just your account.

AI Tutor lesson screen: the wrong and blank questions on the left, an ACT Math question on complex numbers in the middle, and the tutor's steps written one under another on the board on the right.

Questions

How many times can I take each ACT practice test?

Each test can be sat up to 2 times. If you close the tab in the middle of a sitting, your answers are saved and the same sitting resumes when you return.

Do I have to take Science and Writing?

No. As on the real test, Science and the Writing essay are optional, and you choose them before the sitting starts. The Composite is the average of English, Mathematics and Reading either way.

Is the score official?

No. Your report gives estimated scores on the 1–36 scale for each test you sat, an estimated Composite of English, Mathematics and Reading, and STEM and ELA scores where they apply. An essay receives an automated estimate on the 2–12 Writing scale. It is not an ACT score.

Which plan includes Science?

Full access, which covers English, Mathematics, Reading and Science. The English + Reading plan and the Mathematics plan do not include Science.

Can I try the bank before buying?

Yes. With a free account you can practise the bank's 30 sample ACT questions, the same set for everyone, across its sections; when you hand a set in you see each question's correct answer and its explanation. A plan opens the sections it covers for its full access period.
