What one sitting is like

AP US History practice tests are sold in packs of 1, 5 or 10, up to the 10 tests planned for the subject. Any tests still owed open in your account automatically once enough new tests are published to fill the remainder of your pack, and each test's 12 months of access start on the day it opens.

Each test follows the exam College Board publishes for May 2027, section by section, as shown here. Like every AP test on this site, it ends in a report with an estimated AP score from 1 to 5.

Your report
Your report opens the moment you hand the test in: your score, a section-by-section breakdown, and anything still being scored, named and added as it arrives.
AI Tutor
Your AP US History test is over and your report is open: pick a mistake on your results page and the AI Tutor starts from there. It asks you the question and writes the steps out on the board, so you find where you went wrong rather than being handed the answer. The first 2 mistakes are free, for up to 10 minutes.

How it compares with the real AP US History exam

Adaptation

Not adaptive, like the real exam: everyone who sits a given test answers the same questions.

Interface and tools

  • Every part timed in the exam's order, with the 10-minute break after Section I
  • Mark for Review, the option eliminator and a Check Your Work page
  • Highlights and notes on passages and free-response prompts
  • Free-response answers typed, as in Bluebook

Scoring and differences

Multiple-choice answers are marked at hand-in. Each free-response answer gets an automated estimate against the question's scoring guidelines, row by row. The report weights them as the exam does and converts the composite to an estimated AP score from 1 to 5 with our estimated cut-offs, because College Board publishes none. It is not a College Board score.

  • The 1–5 score is an estimate: College Board does not publish the composite needed for each score.

Questions

When do my AP US History tests open?

Any tests still owed open in your account automatically once enough new tests are published to fill the remainder of your pack, and each test's 12 months of access start on the day it opens. Nothing needs to be done on your side: the tests appear in your account.

Which tests will I get?

New tests you do not already hold, in the order they are published, up to the 10 planned for AP US History. A pack is never filled with a test you already have.

How many times can I take each AP US History practice test?

Each test can be sat up to 2 times. If you close the tab in the middle of a sitting, your answers are saved and the same sitting resumes when you return.

Is the score official?

No.

How long does access last?

Published practice tests you buy stay available on your account for 12 months from the date of purchase. Tests sold before publication open automatically once enough new tests are published to fill the remainder of your pack; their 12 months of access start on the day they open. Nothing renews and nothing is charged again.

Can I get a refund?

Practice tests, question banks and AI Tutor time are digital content. You can ask for a refund of a digital product you have not used within 14 days of the payment date. A product counts as used once any practice test in the pack has been started, any question in a paid section of the question bank has been opened, or any second of AI Tutor time has been used; a used product is not refunded. If you are charged twice by mistake, contact us and the duplicate charge is refunded.
