What one sitting is like

Each sitting starts with the 30-minute Analyze an Issue task, followed by two Verbal and two Quantitative sections at the official lengths and times. Your first section in each measure decides whether the second is easy, medium or hard.

Within a section you can skip, mark and return to questions and use the Review screen, and the on-screen calculator is available in Quantitative Reasoning. Your essay receives an automated estimate on the 0–6 scale with written feedback.

Your report
Your report opens the moment you hand the test in: your score, a section-by-section breakdown, and anything still being scored, named and added as it arrives.
AI Tutor
Your GRE test is over and your report is open: pick a mistake on your results page and the AI Tutor starts from there. It asks you the question and writes the steps out on the board, so you find where you went wrong rather than being handed the answer. The first 2 mistakes are free, for up to 10 minutes.

Questions

How many times can I take each GRE practice test?

Each test can be sat up to 2 times. If you close the tab in the middle of a sitting, your answers are saved and the same sitting resumes when you return.

Does the practice test include the essay?

Yes. Every test opens with one Analyze an Issue task, timed at 30 minutes, as on the real test. It is scored by an automated estimate on the 0–6 scale with feedback on the response.

Is the score official?

No. Verbal and Quant are reported as estimated scores on the 130–170 scale. Your essay receives an automated estimate on the 0–6 scale; it is not an ETS score.

Is there a free GRE test?

Yes. There is one free full-length test in the same format as the paid tests. You only need a free account to take it.

How long does access last?

Published practice tests you buy stay available on your account for 12 months from the date of purchase. Tests sold before publication open automatically once enough new tests are published to fill the remainder of your pack; their 12 months of access start on the day they open. Nothing renews and nothing is charged again.

Can I get a refund?

Practice tests, question banks and AI Tutor time are digital content. You can ask for a refund of a digital product you have not used within 14 days of the payment date. A product counts as used once any practice test in the pack has been started, any question in a paid section of the question bank has been opened, or any second of AI Tutor time has been used; a used product is not refunded. If you are charged twice by mistake, contact us and the duplicate charge is refunded.
