What one sitting is like
Each sitting runs Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking in ETS's fixed order. Reading and Listening are two-stage: your first module decides whether the second is easier or harder, as on the real test.
Listening recordings play once, Speaking answers are recorded with your microphone, and Writing and Speaking responses receive an automated estimate. Your report gives each section and the overall score on the 1–6 scale, with a comparable 0–120 total.

Questions
How many times can I take each TOEFL practice test?
Each test can be sat up to 2 times. Take it in one go: closing the tab or reloading the page during the test can lose the answers of the section you are in.
What is the 1–6 scale?
Since 21 January 2026 ETS reports each TOEFL iBT section and the overall score on a 1–6 scale in half-point steps. Until January 2028 score reports also show a comparable 0–120 total, and our report shows both.
Do I need a microphone?
Yes, for the speaking tasks. Use a current version of Chrome, Edge or Safari, allow microphone access when asked, and use headphones so the prompt audio is not picked up by the microphone.
Is the score official?
No. Reading and Listening are marked against the answer key; Writing and Speaking responses receive an automated estimate. The report gives each section and the overall score on the 1–6 scale, with a comparable 0–120 total. It is a practice estimate, not an ETS score.
Is there a free TOEFL test?
Yes. There is one free full-length test in the same format as the paid tests. You only need a free account to take it.
How long does access last?
Published practice tests you buy stay available on your account for 12 months from the date of purchase. Tests sold before publication open automatically once enough new tests are published to fill the remainder of your pack; their 12 months of access start on the day they open. Nothing renews and nothing is charged again.
Can I get a refund?
Practice tests, question banks and AI Tutor time are digital content. You can ask for a refund of a digital product you have not used within 14 days of the payment date. A product counts as used once any practice test in the pack has been started, any question in a paid section of the question bank has been opened, or any second of AI Tutor time has been used; a used product is not refunded. If you are charged twice by mistake, contact us and the duplicate charge is refunded.
