Not adaptive, like the real test.
Speaking and writing responses are scored automatically against the published traits, and the report estimates an overall score on the 10–90 scale with skill breakdowns. It is not a Pearson score.
On the PTE it works through Listening and Reading questions. Your PTE Writing (Write Essay, Summarize Written Text, Summarize Spoken Text) text is coached against Pearson's published scoring traits. On the Speaking tasks it works from the transcript of your recording; it does not re-score pronunciation or fluency.

Cities are often several degrees warmer than the surrounding countryside, an effect known as the urban heat island. Dark roofs and asphalt absorb sunlight during the day and release the stored heat slowly after sunset, while a shortage of trees removes the cooling that shade and evaporation would otherwise provide. In response, some cities now require light-coloured roofs on new buildings and are planting trees along their busiest streets.

Each test can be sat up to 2 times. If you close the tab in the middle of a sitting, your answers are saved and the same sitting resumes when you return.
